Eric is the Director of the Centre for Early Childhood Development. He was a member of major ECD policy development initiatives, including the National Education Policy Investigation and the South African Preschool Study, which contributed to the new government ECD policies. Eric wrote the 2006 national ECD guidelines for the Department of Social Development, and ECD policy for several municipalities. He was the project manager for the ECD audit study (2000). Eric founded the National Early Childhood Development Alliance (2005 and the Cape Town Museum of Childhood in 2015. He is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Social Development at the University of Cape Town.

Riaan’s experience has many years of experience in banking, finance, high-end telecommunications, property investment and Higher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa, the European Union and United Kingdom. He was one of the first directors appointed to the board of CTI Education Group, one of the largest providers of private higher education in South Africa, at the age of 28.Riaan has been involved in a range of successful company acquisitions, most notably Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) (formerly Midrand University) in 2006 and helped to establish several initiatives at CTI, MGI and in the broader education sector. With more than a decade of experience in Higher Education he was appointed as the Managing Director of the London School of Business and Management (LSBM®), London in 2009, whilst remaining on board of directors and management committees of CTI and MGI. Riaan has been instrumental in the success of growing a relatively small company into one of the largest providers of private higher education in South Africa, and arguably Southern Africa, by organic growth and by acquisition.

Dr Mogalapitja Sybil Bokgola (nee Maesela), the first daughter of Nongqele Vivian and the late Maleke Frank Maesela was born in Witbank, Mpumalanga. She went for her primary education in Seshego at Dorothy Langa and Letlotlo, secondary education at Lebowakgomo High. She completed her senior certificate in 1983. She went To Mokopane College of Education and completed her Senior Primary Teachers Diploma (SPTD) in 1987. Devang is an Associate Partner in Dalberg’s Johannesburg office and the Global Leader of the firm’s Employment and Education practice. He advises both public and private sector clients on topics such as primary, secondary and vocational education, youth unemployment, innovative financing mechanisms, and enterprise development. His recent projects have included investor due diligence on a chain of low-fee private schools in Kenya; development of a public-private partnership for the introduction of contract/charter schools in South Africa; review of the vocational skills training landscape in Egypt, Nigeria and Senegal; creation of a social impact bond for youth employment programs in Morocco; and development of a management training program for the agribusiness sector in Africa. He also helped Dalberg develop HUGinsure (the world’s first social impact insurance mechanism) which enables non-profit organizations and social enterprises to accelerate funding and access more working capital. Devang is a frequent speaker and writer on employment and education related topics, with recent presentations at the Harvard Africa Development Conference and recent articles in publications such as The Financial Times’ This is Africa.Outside of Dalberg, Devang serves as a Steering Committee Member of the South Africa chapter of Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE). He recently helped ANDE organize and host a roundtable discussion on ‘Strengthening the Edupreneurship Landscape in South Africa’. He has also volunteered as a Due Diligence Committee Member at the Beyond Capital Fund, helping the organization invest in social enterprises in the health, water, and sanitation sectors. Prior to joining Dalberg, Devang worked for six years with Mercer Consulting in the United States where he advised Fortune 500 companies on strategic human capital and performance measurement issues. He was an Education Pioneers Fellow in Chicago through which he advised the Chicago Jesuit Academy (a charter-type school) on scaling its operations. He has also advised the Meritas Family of Schools, a network of private boarding schools, on their performance management framework. Devang taught mathematics in rural Tanzania and is familiar with the unique challenges facing teachers and administrators in Africa. Devang holds an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College. He was born and raised in India.

In 2007 she opened The Reading Language Gym, a centre that provides language-based literacy intervention to school aged students.
